ABOUT ME
My name is Owen Elyea, and I am the founder of OWNMedia. OWNMedia was a result of combining my passion for design, my fascination with the business world and my vision of being a business owner. OWNMedia not only provides me with the opportunity to continue to expand and grow in all the above areas but allows me an avenue to connect with a wide range of clients and people.​

Currently, I am a student at Carleton University, Sprott School of Business with a major in Marketing. My continued education goals to learn and finesse my design skills in collaboration with my business skills, is a continuation of career path I forged for myself while in high-school. An honour roll student at Longfields Davidson Height Secondary School, where I first started honing my skills through focused courses and was the representative for the OCDSB ( Ottawa Carleton District School Board) , at the 2021 Skills Ontario competition for graphic design and finished 4th in the province. This competition cemented my thinking that this career path was for me. It gave me the opportunity to test my skills against the best competition in the province at my age, by creating a company’s marketing campaign from scratch and designing several media elements, all within a 6 hour time limit.
Outside of school and my work, I have played several sports, Baseball, Hockey and Football to name a few. I have a love for sports in not only athletics, but I am very much intrigued with the connection that it present between sports, entertainment and business. Working within the world of sports has always been an interest of mine and getting OWNMedia off the ground began with numerous local sports associations in my hometown of Ottawa.​
